Business Credit Reports
(National Availability)
Unlike personal credit reports which the
three major credit bureaus have declined to make available for
investigative purposes, business credit reports can be obtained without
restriction. Information can but does not always include: estimated
annual business income, credit rating, number of employees, names of
subsidiary companies, UCC filings (identifies secured parties), and
lawsuits naming the subject entity.
| Tip: For businesses that
have been in operation for several years not having a
credit report on file (indicating no recorded creditors),
suggests either a lack of business or questionable credit
worthiness, or that the business operates on a cash basis only.
In any of these scenarios additional inquiries could be
warranted. |
